One of the earliest published papers on the Pipeline Open Data Standard, this presentation introduces PODS (built on the ISAT 2.0 data model, developed with support from GTI, formerly the Gas Research Institute) and makes the founding business case for a shared pipeline data standard — helping companies avoid custom data designs, costly data migration, and development risk, while letting vendors build applications shared across customers. It describes the newly-formed PODS Association’s role overseeing the model’s continued development through industry and vendor working groups, along with an overview of the core data model tables and Esri compatibility.
