Abstract
As pipeline operators expand into deeper water, dynamic coastlines, and more variable weather, geospatial intelligence needs to connect engineered assets to the natural processes acting on them. This paper describes how PODS 7 and Esri’s Advantage Program are building a stronger data foundation for geohazard screening, monitoring, and response.
The Offshore and SCADA Link Modules extend traditional integrity and ILI-centric workflows to include offshore asset context, environmental conditions, and time-series operational behavior. Aligning these domains in a common geospatial framework lets operators move from static hazard maps to risk-informed, event-driven decision support — linking rainfall, ground deformation, coastal change, currents, and pressure/transient behavior to the right asset at the right time.
The paper also covers BP’s “Golden Build” donation to the Offshore Module working group, and practical implementation patterns for delivering role-based digital twin views (engineering, integrity, subsea inspection, operations) from a single PODS-backed system of record.
