PODS Executive Director OpeningThe Board of Directors of the PODS Association has announced the search for an Executive Director. In order to better meet the needs of the growing membership and the international pipeline industry, the PODS Board of Directors has determined that an Executive Director is immediately needed. For additional information please read the full job description and resume submission information at http://www.pods.org/director.php PODS at ESRI Petroleum User Group ConferenceThe PODS Association will be co-exhibiting with the PPDM Association at the upcoming ESRI Petroleum User Group Conference at the JW Marriott in Houston on April 3-5. To learn more about the ESRI PUG visit http://www.esri.com/events/pug/index.html. Be sure to stop by the booth to learn about the latest release of the PODS model, version 4.0, as well as information about PPDM. PPDM and PODS Spring Data Standards ConferenceThe PPDM and PODS Associations will be jointly sponsoring the annual PPDM / PODS Spring Data Management Conference following the ESRI PUG, Thursday and Friday April 6-7. PODS Spatial Implementation Working GroupThe PODS Association has formed a new Spatial Implementation Working Group. The group is developing industry standard PODS-compatible data models that can optionally be implemented as an ESRI Geodatabase or with Oracle Spatial. ESRI, Intergraph, GE/Smallworld and Autodesk are participating in this new PODS working group. The kick-off meeting, hosted by Chevron, was held in Houston March 14-15. Joint NACE and PODS ECDA Data Interchange StandardOn March 16, NACE STG-35 approved a motion to proceed with the joint NACE and PODS ECDA Integrity Data Exchange standard. This initiative provides standard data exchange formats for External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) data such as close interval survey data, DCVG/ACVG, depth of cover, centerline survey and related field survey data. This standard will provide a common neutral data structure for the exchange of ECDA data between operators and pipeline service companies. PODS Release v4.0 - FinallyThe technical committee plans to submit PODS Version 4.0 to the PODS Board for member review and comment by March 30. Following Board approval, current PODS members will receive a pre-release version of the model for review and comment. Following the review/comment period, the Technical Committee will make any final changes and will release the model for Board approval and final release.
